Hi Friends,
I am so inspired this week to write about abundance. What comes to mind when you read this? Finances? Possessions? Freedom? Something you can’t aquire? Not attainable?
Let me help you see abundance all around you. Here we go. It just takes a little practice and a new set of glasses.:) In the quiet moments, I realize just how much abundance surrounds me in simple, powerful ways. When I wake up, I drink a glass of water with lemon. There’s enough water in my glass, more than enough to quench my thirst, nourish my body, and remind me of the privilege it is to have clean water at my fingertips.
Sometimes, I walk on the dew filled grass, cause I know it has health benefits, even though it's a stretch to call what grows in my Florida yard grass. I look around and see grass growing freely, a lush and endless green that brings life to the landscape and a sense of grounding to my day. Boy, do I need the grounding. I love my bare feet touching the ground, grass, water, sand, mulch...
When you go shopping and you walk through the grocery store, you can fill your cart with fresh fruits and vegetables, knowing that you have the means to nourish yourself and your loved ones. Money flows just enough for my needs; a quiet security that eases my mind.
And then, there are the people in my life; those beautiful, supportive friendships that fill my heart with love and laughter. These connections remind me that I am seen, valued, and never alone. I have an abundance in friendships. And my relationship with my adult children is healing, post divorce. There’s an abundance of glimmers of hope and some restored relationships.
This morning, I couldn't fall back asleep, so, I sat outside and watched the sunrise. First, I watched the moon and the stars in the sky, and the serene beauty and silence. Silence isn't easy for me, even in a beautiful moment like that, but I made myself sit in silence, mesmerized by the abundant sky, with endless stars and galaxies.
My heart beats steadily, day after day, a constant rhythm that I so often take for granted. Each beat is a reminder of life itself, an abundance I carry within me, and one that keeps me moving forward with energy and hope. Walking down the street, I catch the eye of a stranger who offers a smile—a simple gesture that fills me with warmth and reminds me of our shared humanity.
There are flowers blooming everywhere (maybe trees in your area that show their glorious fall colors), bright bursts of color that dot my path and bring beauty into my world. Nature has a way of renewing itself over and over, giving generously without expecting anything in return. As I breathe in the fragrance of those flowers, I feel a sense of ease, grateful for this gift of growth and color.
My breath shows me an abundance of life, of air freely given so I can breathe. Stop once in a while and be thankful for the abundance of air. And the wondrous body of yours that knows how to take in oxygen and supply life to your cells. I take a moment to marvel at the effortless way my lungs expand and contract, filling me with fresh air in a steady rhythm I don’t even need to think about. With each breath, I am sustained by the abundance of oxygen flowing through me, fueling every cell, every heartbeat, and every thought.
My heart beats every second of every minute of every hour of my day. I don't have to remind my body to do this. It just sustains me; my heart beats continuously, without me doing a thing . There is an abundance of heart beats, in me and my loved ones.
My body, this incredible system, functions with a quiet intelligence that keeps me going day after day.
My senses bring me joy and connection: I can see the beauty around me, hear the laughter of loved ones, taste the sweetness of a warm drink, feel the comfort of a soft blanket, and smell the earth after the rain. These senses anchor me in the richness of life, and I realize just how blessed I am to experience it all.
This abundance within, the kind we often overlook, is a daily reminder of the miracle of simply being alive. What do you notice?
When I shift my attention to these simple yet profound sources of abundance, I feel a deep sense of gratitude. Life becomes a series of moments where I am reminded that there is enough, always enough, and that I am richly blessed in ways that truly matter.
This weeks affirmation :
I notice the abundance in and around me.
