Hi Friends, I hope you got to see your creativity! Today, let's just take a stroll down memory lane. Do you remember bringing your roll of film to the store to be developed? And then you waited days until you could pick it up and maybe only half of the pictures you took were any good? Let's just pause for a moment to be thankful for digital pictures where we can take 10 tries and delete nine right away to keep the one we like. And all is done immediately. Let's go back to how it used to be done. Pictures (the negatives) were taken to a dark room to develop. I don't know details, and we don't need them here to get to my point. The picture can only develop because it was already there. The process only brings out what already was there from the beginning. A flower seed develops into a flower, not a tree, cause everything is in that little seed that makes it a flower. It develops into what was already there. Acorns grow into big majestic oak trees, not any other tree, because everything that is needed to grow into a big oak tree is already there. I love nature and what we can learn from her. So take a deep breath in and a deep breath out. What I am going to say might go against popular opinion. So be it. You don't need to work so hard to become a new person; the new best version of you. Do I want to be my best version? Do I want you to be your best version? Yes! That's one reason I love coaching so much, because I get the honor of guiding you through the process. The development! Self-development. And often it goes back to allowing. One client recently said: you gave me the permission to just be me, and she laughed, cause it sounds so silly, but it was so freeing for her; and so much fun for me to watch. Another client allowed herself to be friends with some old acquaintances again. And another client allowed herself to rest. Rest was a bad word for her; a waste of time. And only when I reframed it and helped her see that rest is "productive," she lit up and laughed. I like to trick the brain. And I like when my clients think it's great too! Allowing. Resting. Becoming (I just downloaded that book on my audible).Developing. It's all there inside of you. Life, like the seasons and weather that a seedling and emerging plant need to withstand, is all there to help you emerge.
You are meant to grow from it.
You are meant to go through what you are going through.
You are meant to withstand.
You are meant to grow roots.
You are meant to trust the process.
You are meant to not look/be the same a year from now.
You don't have to force growth. You can allow it. Trust it. Everything is packed in the little you that was born on that awesome day. You were perfect. Your life was meant to unfold. And there was growth. And now, growth hurts. And it is uncomfortable. I remember talking to a friend who is also a coach, who had experienced similar life circumstances as I was going through, and I said, "I don't like that growth is so painful. I don't want to grow anymore!" to which she responded, "What if you could grow with ease and grace?" That stopped me in my tracks. It resonated so much with me that I recorded it as part of my morning affirmations.
I am growing with ease and grace.
How about you? Will you allow growth?
