Tuesday Thoughts And Reflection

Updated: 15 hours ago

Hi Friends,

I trust you were inspired by the Christmas prayer from last week.

Can you believe there is only one day left in the year? Time flies! What are your New Year’s Eve plans? Are you someone who loves going out and celebrating big, or do you prefer a cozy, low-key night? Whatever you’re up to, I hope you have an amazing time filled with laughter, great company, and delicious food. As for me, I’ll be ringing in the New Year at a friend’s house. We’re keeping it simple with a small, intimate get-together—just my friend from 5th grade, her husband and myself.

As you might know, I’m not really one for New Year’s resolutions, but I’m all about making meaningful, positive changes in my life. As we step into a fresh year, it’s the perfect opportunity to reflect, embrace the lessons we’ve learned, and release what no longer serves us. Whether it’s old habits, limiting beliefs, or unhealthy relationships, letting go can create space for growth, happiness, and a brighter 2025. Here are 3 things I’m saying goodbye to as we welcome the new year. I hope they inspire you to reflect on your own journey and consider what you might leave behind, too:

1. Self-Judgment

I’ve caught myself beating myself up for not being further along or for thinking I should’ve done things differently. But in 2025, I’m surrendering to the understanding that everything is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to, in its perfect timing. If I don’t finish a task or things don’t go as planned, that’s okay. I’m learning to trust the process and let go of the need to be so hard on myself.

2. Not Speaking Up

This one’s I am still learning and boy, is it hard, especially in relationships. I’ve realized, I often avoid conflict by staying quiet, trying to keep peace, and going along with things even if I feel the misalignment. That’s changing. From now on, in my relationships, I’ll make it a priority to use my voice, communicate clearly, and honor my needs without fear.

3. Postponing/Avoiding

How many times have I postponed something big or small because it was uncomfortable or scary or just plain boring? I could kick myself. (Oops, refer to point number 1.) Often these annoying or scary things are less of a hassle once I finally tackle them. This ranges from opening mail to making big business decisions and everything in between whether it’s a difficult conversation, uncomfortable emotions, or tasks I’d rather avoid. In the coming year, are you committing to sitting with your emotions, leaning into the tough moments, and tackling them with courage and love? Is there something you’ve been avoiding? Maybe it’s that little voice inside urging you to stop playing small and finally go after your dreams—the ones you’ve been quietly holding in your heart.

Here are four meaningful reflection prompts to guide your review of the past year:

1) What have I done right this year?

Consider actions, decisions, or habits that brought positivity or progress to your life. Reflect on the moments where you felt aligned with your values and embraced your strengths.

2) What lesson did I learn that shaped me?

Think about a situation or challenge that offered a valuable life lesson. How has this insight impacted your perspective, choices, or relationships moving forward?

3 )How have I changed for the better?

Reflect on ways you've grown—perhaps you've become more patient, resilient, or self-compassionate. Acknowledge changes in your mindset or behaviors that have enriched your life.

4) What am I most proud of this year?

Identify achievements or personal milestones, whether big or small. Maybe it's stepping out of your comfort zone, maintaining a habit, or showing kindness during a tough time.

Use these questions to uncover the depth of your growth and celebrate your unique wins!
